Ok, so my VIA AC'97 no longer gives me any sound; which is pretty annoying. I've uninstalled, and reinstalled several of the different VIA drivers available; (and before you ask), checked with VIA; unfortunately they don't have any provided Vista Compatible Drivers available.
Now, I did a clean install; and the sound was working absolutely perfectly; until I installed my driver for my Display Adapter; which is a VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP. No other situations resulted in the sound disappearing off into my nice desktop sunset (Just to check, I did another clean install; and didn't install the display adapter until the very last second); each time I had multiple restarts; including one just before the adapter, so I didn't overlook anything that I know of.
Any thoughts about how I can get my sound back? I know one way; but it's not exactly enjoyable to reinstall Vista again; any help is greatly appreciated.
Justin
